(Click here for the Christmas logo)
I've been working on a new design for the Nelson Studios logo for the last couple months. I've come up with a few variations, and I want everyone here to help us decide which to use.

Go to http://www.nelson-studios.net/images/newlogo and look at the different logos, then vote in the poll in this thread.

Thanks,
Isaac

Hey, good idea! Very Happy Why didn't I think of that? I'll make one like that and post it later. If you think that will be the one you want to vote for, don't vote yet.

it took you long enough to listen to my idea about using LEGOs in the logo. Wink

I've added the LEGO brick background version to the gallery and to the poll. Go ahead and vote now!
We're actually thinking we shouldn't use anything LEGO in our logo for two reasons: we don't want it to look like we're affiliated with LEGO (that could cause legal trouble for us) and we'll probably eventually do other forms of animation. We might still use it for our brickfilms, but we're not sure yet. Don't let that stop anyone from voting, though. I want to know which one you really like best!

I've got to ask you, what program did you use to make these? Also, why do you always use blue and yellow? Oh! I get it, it's kind of like the colors for BYU!!!!

Awsome, huh?

Oh yeah, take a look at this:

Yep, I did them almost from scratch with Adobe Photoshop Elements. It's only about $70, but The GIMP is very similar (but not quite as advanced) and free. Why did we chose yellow and blue? I don't remember, though it wasn't because of BYU. I guess we just thought they look good together.

Cool mouse! I couldn't see the first pic, though. It seems to be broken...

Clarity and Simplicity

Think of all the most recognizable company logos. To improve recognition, focus on simple shapes, primary colors, basic patterns. I like the brick backed pattern, but it was very hard to choose between that and the basic white background.

Keep it simple, keep it beautiful, and keep making other beautiful art; just not for logos Smile

I pick number 2 because the ones with the circle background you didn't put enough effort into it
and it looks wierd in a bad way!! Also because it looks cool!!

That makes sense, Pickles. Thanks for the advice Very Happy
To everyone: Thanks for your opinions and votes! I thinks about everyone's voted, so I'll just leave the poll open for a few more days then make the final decision on the logo!

Why not just do a differant version for each film and have a main one for the site.

By the way, the pic can be viewed by right clicking and selecting view image.

Hmm, that's a good idea. I guess this poll is for the main logo on the website. The poll will be open for two more days, then Ekul and I will make the final decision.

You've probably noticed we made a final decision on the new logo! We chose #2 (the LEGO bricks) for the main site and #3 for the forums. Thanks to everyone for your comments and votes Very Happy !

You spelled "wierd" incorrectly. It is spelled "weird".
Also, note to Isaac: Your movie "Wierdo", is most likely spelled incorrectly also. You may want to update this, or if you want me to pronounce your movie "Why ard or", or "Wired doe", or "Wi erdo", or "Where, er, doe?", or "Wire Do", or "Wolfgang Intelligent Encarta Ribose Dunderhead Oddball". Confused
